Can I Use Fresh, Frozen, or Canned Peaches?

Yes! If you don’t have fresh, ripe peaches you can either use frozen, thawed peaches or canned peaches. While I prefer fresh peaches, frozen or canned will work as well, making this a recipe you can enjoy year round.

  • Frozen Peaches- Thaw them first and drain away excess liquid. Use more than 2 slices per crescent roll if the slices are small.
  • Canned Peaches- Use canned peaches packed in juice for best results. Drain them well. Use more than 2 slices if they are small.

Peach Crescent Dumplings Recipe Tips

  • Don’t skip the soda. The carbonation is important to get the right texture and it helps form a thick, syrupy sauce on the bottom. You can use either Sprite, 7-Up, or Mountain Dew.
  • Use ripe peaches. For best flavor and texture, use ripe but not overripe peaches. The texture of overripe peaches will break down too much in the oven.
  • Don’t overfill the crescent rolls with peaches.
