Can I Use Fresh, Frozen, or Canned Peaches?
Yes! If you don’t have fresh, ripe peaches you can either use frozen, thawed peaches or canned peaches. While I prefer fresh peaches, frozen or canned will work as well, making this a recipe you can enjoy year round.
- Frozen Peaches- Thaw them first and drain away excess liquid. Use more than 2 slices per crescent roll if the slices are small.
- Canned Peaches- Use canned peaches packed in juice for best results. Drain them well. Use more than 2 slices if they are small.

Peach Crescent Dumplings Recipe Tips
- Don’t skip the soda. The carbonation is important to get the right texture and it helps form a thick, syrupy sauce on the bottom. You can use either Sprite, 7-Up, or Mountain Dew.
- Use ripe peaches. For best flavor and texture, use ripe but not overripe peaches. The texture of overripe peaches will break down too much in the oven.
- Don’t overfill the crescent rolls with peaches.

These easy peach dumplings bake up golden and crispy on top but they are buttery and gooey on the bottom. Positively delicious. And when you add vanilla ice cream. OMG! Heaven.
