Jezebel Sauce

Jezebel Sauce- this retro sweet and spicy southern condiment is a breeze to whip up and can be used in multiple ways. My favorite way is to serve it over a block of cream cheese with crackers. Such an easy party appetizer and a holiday favorite.

What Is Jezebel Sauce?

Jezebel Sauce is a southern condiment that is both sweet and spicy. It is typically served over cream cheese. It is thought to be named after the biblical figure Jezebel, because of its sweet and spicy nature. It originated in the Gulf Coast region of the South and can be found in cookbooks dating back to the 1950s.

Jezebel Ingredients

  • Apple Jelly
  • Pineapple Preserves
  • Dry Mustard
  • Horseradish– I used prepared horseradish, but freshly grated would be great if you have it.
  • Pepper
