Spicy Glaze

A sweet and spicy glaze made from honey, Creole mustard, red pepper flakes, and cayenne pepper creates a spicy twist on Honey Baked Ham.

Easy Hands-Off Recipe

This recipe is perfect for the holidays because besides a few minutes of prep, it is totally hands-off and it doesn’t take up stove space or oven space. Just get it in the slow cooker, glaze it, and forget about it for at least 4 hours.

How To Choose A Ham

There are so many choices when it comes to buying a ham. For this recipe, you want to make sure you choose a pre-cooked ham. I prefer one that is bone-in and spiral cut. Bone-in ham stays juicier in the slow cooker than boneless ham. And a spiral-cut ham is not only easier to serve since it’s pre-sliced, it turns out more flavorful because the glaze makes it way down between the slices as it cooks.

What Size Slow Cooker

You will need a 6-quart or larger slow cooker for this recipe.

Recipe Tips

Cook on LOW. Ham cooked on HIGH can dry out.

The cooking time will depend on the size of your ham. A small ham might be ready in less than 4 hours but a large ham will take at least 5, maybe 6 hours. Keep in mind that the ham is already cooked and you just need to heat it really well all the way through.

An 8-pound or larger ham may not fit in your slow cooker. You can either trim some off or use heavy-duty aluminum foil to cover the top of the slow cooker instead of using the lid.

What To Serve With Slow Cooker Hot Honey Ham

I love this ham with Pineapple Casserole, Super Creamy Mac and Cheese, Scalloped Potato Casserole, and the BEST Yeast Rolls.
