How can I make Instant Pot hamburgers ahead?

These burgers are best served as soon as they are cooked, but you can make up the burger mix up to a day ahead of time and keep it covered in the fridge. Cooked hamburgers will keep well in the fridge for 4 days and can be reheated in the oven.

Any other ground meats like bison, chicken or turkey can be used in this recipe. It’s best not to use extra lean meats. If using chicken or turkey, use and instant read thermometer to check that your burgers are cooked through.

What are the best buns to use for burgers?

Standard burger buns work great, but I love to use brioche buns for a bit of extra flavor and touch of sweetness. For a low carb dinner, they work great in lettuce wraps.

Tips!

  • Don’t overwork the burger mixture. The ingredients should be just combined. Overworking can lead to tough and chewy burgers.
  • Be sure to wrap the burgers well in the foil. This will keep the steam in so that they cook through.
  • Thicker burgers may need a couple of extra minutes to cook through, and thinner burgers will require slightly less cooking time.
