Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts

These super crispy Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts have become my go-to side dish recipe for quick and easy dinners! I add Parmesan and balsamic for the most delicious flavor, but this recipe is so versatile when it comes to seasonings and add-ins. Cooking brussels sprouts in my Air Fryer is so fast (12 minutes), I never have to worry about last-minute side dishes again!

My Air Fryer has become my favorite kitchen appliance over the last few years because it makes it so easy to cook quick, healthy, and easy dishes. And this Air Fryer Brussels sprouts recipe is the perfect example! It’s basically 2 steps to make this crispy veggie side dish (toss and cook), and the balsamic glaze just makes them unbelievably tasty.

Ingredients for Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts

  • Brussels Sprouts: Fresh or frozen Brussels sprouts, trimmed and cut in half.
  • Olive Oil: Helps the sprouts cook and makes them crispy. Another high smoke point oil will work too.
  • Seasonings: A simple mix of garlic and onion powder, plus salt and pepper, is all you need.
  • Balsamic Glaze: This adds a sweet and tangy finish for serving. Skip if you prefer.
  • Parmesan: Freshly grated Parmesan makes them a little cheesy.

Feel free to toss in some cooked bacon crumbles, feta or another cheese instead of Parmesan, or drizzle with honey or maple syrup instead of balsamic. Or if you want to change up the seasonings, try swapping in a seasoning mix like ranch mix, Italian seasoning, or Herbes de Provence.

Tips to Make ’em Crispy

The secret to good Brussels sprouts is all in the texture! There’s nothing worse than soggy sprouts, but that’s not a problem here. Cooking Brussels sprouts in the Air Fryer is a great way to get the same crispy texture you’d get from roasting them in the oven, but this method is so much faster.

Cutting Brussels sprouts in half (or quarters) ensures that the center gets soft and tender, while the outside gets a caramelized and slightly crunchy finish without burning.

Fully coating them in cooking oil also helps to crisp everything up, and I always shake up my Air Fryer basket about halfway through to make sure every side is exposed to the circulating heat.

And my final (or maybe first) tip: be sure to fully dry your sprouts after washing so there’s no extra moisture, which will create a steaming effect instead of “frying”.

How to Store and Reheat

Store leftover Brussels sprouts in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze for 3 months. Fully thaw in the fridge after freezing.

I recommend reheating these Brussels sprouts in the Air Fryer to crisp them back up. 5 minutes in the fryer at 350°F should do the trick!

Serving Suggestions

It’s so convenient being able to cook these balsamic Brussels sprouts in the Air Fryer in just 15 minutes while I get dinner ready. They pair so well with any main dish, but I love matching them with honey balsamic chicken or Parmesan pork chops. Because they get crisp like fries, they also make a healthy balance for stovetop burgers or crispy chicken sandwiches!
