How to make Crock Pot Party Chex Mix
Be sure to see the recipe card below for full ingredients & instructions!
- Add the Chex, pretzels, crackers, and nuts to the slow cooker.
- Whisk together the butter and seasonings.
- Mix the butter mix into the chex, crackers and nuts.
- Cook and let cool before serving or storing.
Yes! If you have a gluten-intolerance, just be sure to use gluten-free cereals, pretzels and crackers and you are good to go!
If you prefer your snacks on a spicy side, you can add a little cayenne pepper or red chili flakes to the butter and other seasonings.
Once you have cooked and cooled the Chex mix, transfer it to an airtight container. Keep it at room temperature, out of direct sunlight, and it will keep well for up to 3 weeks. Though I doubt it will last that long!
Once cooked, it’s important to let the mix cool completely before storing. Spread the mix out onto parchment lined baking sheets in a single layer to allow the air to circulate. This will cool and harden the seasonings and keep the cereals nice and crisp.
Tips!
- You can use salted or unsalted butter in this recipe. If using salted, decrease the amount of added salt a little.
- Toss the mix well in the seasoned butter, so that each piece is well coated for maximum flavor.
- Allow the Chex mix to cool completely before storing or serving.
This is a great snack mix to pop on to your holiday menu. It makes a big batch, so it’s there to grab whenever you need!
This Crock Pot Chex mix recipe is so easy to make and I love having it on hand for those unannounced guests during the holidays!
